City of Bath Heraldic Society Programme 2015-2016

PLEASE NOTE that the programme is a little different from that in recent years in two respects: Firstly, we have reinstated a meeting in September and secondly there will be NO meeting at Manvers Street in December. It is with some reluctance that the Committee has decided on the latter but it is felt that many members would prefer not to have the hassle of coping with the increasing difficulties in finding parking in Central Bath - or even at the Park-and-Ride sites - in the pre-Christmas period. We are thinking, however, of arranging some informal social get-together at this time - more details later.

AGINCOURT at ST PETER'S CHURCH WAPLEY (near Yate)
Members will need no reminding that the 600th anniversary of this famous battle occurs on the 25th October - and we are looking forward very much to Roland's lecture on the previous Saturday. As many will be aware John Codrington, who was standard-bearer to Henry V, is buried in St. Peter's Church, Wapley. The Church will be commemorating the battle on the actual anniversary (a Sunday) and we are invited to attend the event, which will take the form of various activities and displays between 10 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. followed by a special evening service at 6.30. Further details will follow.

END OF TERM LUNCH AND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Lunch will be at 12 noon for 12.30.
The AGM (at 2.00 p.m.) will be followed by the customary Members' Miscellany.
Tickets for the Lunch will cost £5 and must be booked in advance from the Honorary Treasurer and in any event by no later than 16th APRIL.
Please enclose a SAE if applying by post.

Map   Unless otherwise stated, all meetings are at Manvers Street Baptist Church Hall and start at 2:30 p.m. The Church Halls are next door to the Bath Police Headquarters and only a few minutes' walk from the Railway and Bus Stations.

Visitors are welcome to attend meetings; fee £3.
Afternoon tea is served following meetings and a charge of £1.50 is made for this.

PARKING in central Bath can be difficult - and expensive. The nearest long-term parking is in the Underground Car park under the Southgate Shopping Centre, but visitors to Bath, coming by car, are strongly recommended to use one of the four park-and-ride bus services - which all stop near the Bus Station, a few minutes walk from our meeting place.
